E-mail Print PDF

Watch out: the dragons are coming......

Four of Queensland's elite dragon boat clubs have signed up for the Griffith University Paradise Regatta!

Teams from Brisbane River Dragons, Broadwater Dragons Paddling Club, Burleigh Fire Dragons and Te Waka Taniwah Dragons will be battling it out for supremacy on the water right in front of the Gold Coast Arts Centre.

Many paddlers from these clubs have just returned from the World Titles in Prague (with lots of bling!) and exiting races are expected. So, come along to see some of the best paddlers in Australia.

In other exciting Dragon Boat News - Griffith University Boat Club - the host club of the Griffith University Paradise Regatta have just bought their very own 22 person Swift Dragon Boat.

"Its so great to have a Dragon Boat! We now have a way of getting all the club members together to compete! Since being introduced to the sport by Phil Rawlings we have set our sights on getting one and getting involved in the Dragon Boat Community and now the biggest obstacle - owning our own boat has been overcome." Dr David Houston of GUBC said.

Its hoped that other Universities can follow Griffith's lead and get involved in this great team sport! To get your Dragon Boat involved contact:

Paradise Regatta.COM secured!

It had always been a frustration of the Griffith University Paradise Regatta that the domain name paradiseregatta.com was taken by a spaceholder website. So we took www.paradiseregatta.net and overall things were still pretty good.
