Official Beneficiary: Griffith University Boat Club (est. 2005)
The Paradise Regatta is a volunteer operated venture by Griffith University graduate Dr David Houston designed to generate the funds necessary to finance elite coaching and equipment for the Griffith University Boat Clubs Rowing and Dragon Boat Program.
The Griffith University Paradise Regatta's has thus far generated:
- Purchase of a world class rowing 8+ 2007
- Purchase of oars 2007
- Purchase of cox box boat microphone system 2007
- Payment of GUBC Mens Elite Coach 2007 - Mr David Dwinell
- Payment of GUBC Mens Elite Coach 2008 - Mr Marcus Free
- Payment of GUBC Elite Coach 2009
- Payment of lease expenses for GUBC Dragon Boat 2009

Griffith University womens 8+ racing at the Paradise Regatta rowing a borrowed, frequently broken, wooden 1981 rowing 8+.
